The sculpted Norwegian Fjords and Islands of Western Europe are fascinating to approach from the sea from the bridge of a ship. Western Europe has cities such as Amsterdam, London, and Dublin which you will visit when you cruise around the British Isles. When you arrive in Stockholm, which is the 14 part island of the archipelago on the East Coast meets the Baltic Sea. There are many galleries, buildings and museums here which escaped the bombings in the Second World War.

In Western Europe.

It is a pleasure to tour Holland and Rotterdam’s canals, windmills and tulip fields.

On the North West Coast of France Le Havre has the famous Normandy Beaches.

Also in France is Rouen with its cathedral, Gothic and Medieval architecture.

Paris with its many districts is on many itineries if you feel like travelling further. The Louvre and the wonderful Pompidou Modern Art Museum live up to their reputation as the fascinating attractions that they are.

On the Spanish Coast you’ll see Bilbao and the stunning Guggenheim Museum.

You will also be close to the wine producing area of The Basque Country.

Another port is the picturesque village of Vigo on the West Coast and Cadiz on the south-western side.

Not far from Vigo is Seville, a wonderful town with contrasts of beautiful little squares of 18th century houses and the busy streets where people live and work, which give it a non touristy feel and a great atmosphere.

The attractions in Seville are bullfighting and flamenco dancing.

Lisbon, Portugal which is built on seven hills overlooking the harbour is compact and easy to find your way around. It is Europe’s oldest city. Find your way around the Old Town with its windy cobbled streets.

The British Isles have ports which are dominated by crumbling Medieval castles and abbeys, from its approximate 1,000 year history.

The Irish capital of Dublin is superbly elegant with its Georgian architecture along the river and waterfront.

In Waterford the Crystal Factory has exquisite displays and you can watch people glass blowing, cutting and engraving and you can ship some home yourself.

Scotland has craggy cliffs shaped by strong waves, so different from the wild flower meadows growing here too.

The supposed Loch Ness monster in Invergordon in the Highlands is not known for appearing for photo opportunities.

Cornwall has the best weather in Britain with palm trees and lovely harbours such as Torquay.

Every port is fun to shop in as there are many craftspeople such as goldsmiths, silversmiths, wood carvers, weavers and clock makers.
